We liked the appartment and its vicinity to the Metro station. Nice comfortable bed, and a good shower in the ( small) bathroom.
A couple of comfortable chairs would be a good addition and in the kitchen I missed a hot water kettle and tea making equipment. And a rubbish bin!
But, it was a nice place and we felt quite at ease there. Friendly neighbours as well.
Yes, we are fans of this studio. This was the the third time we stayed in Manuel's studio, so it is obvious we like it. The studio is spacious, light, quiet, with a beautiful view on a small garden court. It is clean and has all the amenities you'll need. Do not expect luxury, but it is very authentic and good value for money. It is in a mixed residential area, everything is on walking distance: the metro, groceries, good brasseries, cafes and restaurants. The number 4 metro, which is really nearby, brings you straight into the center of Paris (Centre Pompidou, Notre Dame, Seine, Quartier Latin, etc).
We hope to be able to stay again!
Manuel kindly accepted us even though we were a bit late and on our departure he was willing to meet at 8 AM, which was likely not the most convenient time for him. A noisy renovation was taking place outside the apartment which made our stay little bit less convenient, but it was to the benefit of future travellers. Quality of the interior, furnitures and other equipments just an average. In general it was a fine stay. :)
Manuel was a great host! He welcomed us in his cozy apartment in Porte de Clingancourt and made sure we had enough information about Paris to keep us entertained during our short stay there :) The apartment is beautiful and provides everything you will need. We had a short but wonderful stay :)
We stayed in Manuel's studio in November 2012 and because we liked it so much we stayed here again in Nov. 2013. It is very pleasant open space, with a view on a small and quiet 'cour' / courtyard, beautiful tree in front of the window. Everything is there: oven, toaster, coffee machine, microwave, cooker, kitchen utensils, a hot shower, towels, electric heaters, etc. It is not luxurious, but it has a very nice, authentic atmosphere, big windows, lots of light and it is clean.
Manuel is communicative and helpful, his English is really good.
Near the studio there are many nice bars, restaurants, a market, everything you need. Nearby also is the marché aux puces, the big flea market, with a very lively atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this studio to other guests.
Manuel's place is just as shown in the pictures and described here. The place is very sunny and quiet due to the courtyard, the trees.. and the lazy cats. a nice atmosphere behind the coded gate. The place itself is basic, and feels like an artist's studio (which is why I chose it). it's clean, has good internet, tv & cable.. although I never watched it. The neighborhood is a multicultural one. it's safe, but nothing really to do or see there. But it's only 10 min exactly to Etienne Marcel, Chatlet.. and even less to Gare du nord and Gare de l'est. The station itself is only One minute walk from the studio. Manuel is a very nice person, very honest and smooth communication before, during and after my stay. Had the pleasure to talk with him before leaving. Check in and out was very easy and smooth. What the place lacks is definitely some comfortable chairs so that hanging out at the studio can be more cozy.
First it was quite of a drama, as we were much too late for arriving and our cell phone was out of money etc. I hadn´t organized the trip very well. What is very important: to phone the host if you are late. At last all worked out fine, he turned out as an accurate and friendly person. The appartment was very individually furnished, not quite as clean, but acceptable. The surroundings were very individual as well - which suits Paris- it`s very lifely in the streets but as you live in a courtyard in the opposite direction to the streets the appartment is quite quiet. Note that an ''Impasse'' is a narrow ''street'' where you can't go with a car (just for pedestrians), but there is a parking garage a few hundred meters further down the street...Grocery shops are really not far and the next metro station as well - so you are in the middle of Paris, you just have to jump on the metro to go to see the famous sights. And Paris - well, what can one say...only one thing: horrible traffic! For individual travellers I can recommend this apparment (not more than two persons, the bathroom is very small and you have no sink there) and its surroundings.
Me and my girlfriend stayed in Manuel’s apartment for 6 days while in Paris and it was absolutely amazing! Manuel is very kind and helpful. The studio has all you need for a good stay in Paris. However, the kitchen is not suited for big dinners. We also noted that the neighborhood can seem a bit spooky at night – it is not situated in the central part of Montmartre. We did not have any problems with this though…
We strongly recommend this apartment.
