Nice few days in Venice (02.05 - 05.05)
Apartment conveniently located for all the main areas to visit, safe and quiet.
Thanks for having us Grazia,
Dom & Cathy
Even if the appartment is quite small, its position is fantastic - only a 3 minutes walk to San Marco square. However it is really quiet there.
Grazia was very nice, we were even allowed to stay till the early evening on the day of our departure - which is quite important if your flight back is only late ...
Sometimes an electric cutout happens (as a consequence the water gets cold). You can help yourself and swith it on again in the cutout box outside the appartment near the front door (left side).
There is no warm water in the kitchen, but you can heaten the water on the cooker.
And the appartment is quite dark, but this is a consequence of the narrow streets > the sun can't shine into the windows of appartments on the ground floor. If this disturbes you, you have to search for an appartment on an upper floor.
We stayed in this appartment for 4 days WITHOUT warm water !!
The CV installation was broken and Grazia knew this was not working. she did not pick up the phone for 2 days ( lost the phone, yeah right ! ) Than promised to sent a plumber that never showed up. So...if you want to stay in Venice with a cold shower for FOUR days and NO service, dirty barthroom, broken hairdryer... than yes, you should rent this appartment...
In short: AVOID !!!
Venice is great however !!
Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at this location due to a broken warm water heater. But Grazia, our host, made the impossible possible and found a another very nice apartment in the Dorsoduro area of Venice. I want to mention that this was during the opening days of the Venice Biennale, when rooms in Venice are usually booked out completely. Grazia was very friendly and helpful, she had great suggestions for restaurants and places to go and we will certainly stay in one of her apartments again, next time we go to Venice!
BTW: The apartment in Dorsoduro is on the ground floor, but very private and quiet, at the same time very central. It was clean, very nicely furnished and had a great bed! All together a very good experience.

We arrived in thick snow! abd freezing weather, and waited 1/2 to be met! This 'loft' claims to accommodate up to 4 people, but was just about adequate for 2. There is a hanging cupboard with safe, and 3 small drawers to store clothes barely enough for one person let alone 2. We kept our clothes in the suitcase. Large wash room was nice. The fridge was the size of a minibar, inadequate. The 'kitchen' was inside a cupboard and consisted of a sink with shaky tap and only cold water, and 1/2 electric hob, no place to put dishes. Ustensils were minimal, Grazia and co. were friendly and amiable and met our requirements as they came up: for example a kettle, a toaster, a cafetiere, a corkscrew. There were no spatulas or kitchen knife. The appt was dark, electrics needed in daytime. The bed was quite good. There were a TV in every room which we could have done without. The street and neighbours were quite noisy. It felt more like camping in student accommodation than a fully equipped loft.
Venice was beautiful! The apartment was in a great location, just a stones throw away from the city center. On the downside, there was an excessive amount of street noise from partiers that kept us awake into the early hours of the morning. We had a great time though
Stayed with my three friends three days (end of October 2012) at this
flat and we really enjoyed ourself. It is very close to Marcus-Square
and all the other interesting sights of the city.
The flat is divided into a bedroom (double bed, TV), bathroom and
living room (TV, sofa can be converted into two separate beds, small
Shortly after our arrival (late evening) we were greeted by a friendly colleague of Grazia. He showed us around checked our passports and gave
us tips to find a cheep restaurant.
+) great location (we can recommend the bar right next to the flat - take care, it is expensive)
+) tidy, clean and in good shape
+) friendly and helpful staff
+) in acqua-alta-zone - bring good shoes and have fun :)
-) seems to have a little electricity problem sometimes - staff
quickly responded with an easy "work-around"
-) in acqua alta zone ;)
-) windows should be replaced
Grazia and Alvise are very nice, and the apartment is wonderful, cozy and great! Will stay next time!!!
This flat was ideal for our very short stay in Venice. Four people did fit in but they have to be good friends. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The kitchen is simply a cupboard and so we ate out. The flat is so close to St. Mark's Square and so close to all water taxis etc. It is fine for a two or three day stop over.
