The location is great, near Notting Hill and Hyde Park. Underground stations, buses and supermarkets are very nearby. Reception was friendly.
The apartment was not what we expected. It is very small and has only the most basic kitchen utensils. No kitchen or tea towel, no hand towels. The "chairs" are two very small plastic stools.
Electricity was complicated: we had to take a stick out of the meter and charge it in the supermarket.
All in all we had a great time in London, but next time we won't stay here again.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The proximity to the train station was only about 5 minutes, and the room was comfortable and satisfied our needs. We had enough room inside to relax. Some minor corrections could be made - no forks in the silverware set; no battery in the wall clock; wifi was inoperative for 2 of the 7 days. These inconveniences were overcome by our trip preparation. All in all, not a bad apartment.
Nice Flat for a short Stay!!! Only the Neighborhood was awkward, we felt not very safe in this part of London.
The bed was absolutely horrible!!! Moreover, I didn't get a proper answer to muy email. The comunication with the stuff was really bad. The cold in the kitchen was an inconvenience everytime we needed yo use the bathroom. For such a sort stay they could provide some washing líquido or paper rollos. We evento had to pay forma the electricity...I don't think it is cheap enough to make you pay forma these extras.
Very good Location
IN the flat lacked both hand towels as well as for the dishes in the kitchen.
The walls were so thin that you have all night all toilets heard in the house, washing machine ran day and night, so that one night had no rest.
The glass door in the room could not be opened for ventilation.
We had to extend for 2 days and were in a run-down hotel that had the same price, shipped and we thought we would have arrived in the last century, because everything was old, worn and broken and also lacked towels, toilet brush and much more.
It was a tiny hole and should be for 2 people!!! It was a bad joke!
A impudence to offer something for that price!!!
Hope there will be a refund give for such an effrontery!
Under no circumstances would I recommend this property to anyone! #1 reason,we arrived in London after an overnight flight from the States,only to find that we unable to contact "Irene" as we were instructed! After several attempts,we made our way to the property.There was a key code on the door.No code was given to us! The gentleman who owned the business next door asked how he could help.He knew the handyman who worked in the building and called him to let us in.The room,in no way resembled the pictures on the Wimbu site.It was dirty, and musty,the shower caulking black with mold!The "bath towels" were the size of a tea towel,2 each for 10 days.And,we never saw "Irene" in the 10 Days we were there!
Very good place for tourist
Bad things first: Our first impression of the apartment wasn't the best. It had a moldy smell, the lights in the bathroom didn't work and the kitchen equipment was all dirty (one pan even had old cooking oil in it!) - the following morning we also discovered, that we didn't have any hot water in the shower. Obviously we called the landlady who was very friendly and told us that she'd fix everything - which luckily, she did (except for the kitchen stuff).
The apartment in general was a bit dirty but we weren't very bothered as we only stayed in there during the nights when we slept.
Now to the couple of good things: The apartment is situated in Kilburn which is very close to the city centre and has a great traffic connection. Tube & Overground stations are both very close and there's also a bus to Camden (takes only about 12 mins to get there). Also, we had a really good internet connection in the apartment which is always brilliant and doesn't happen very often in London.
All in all, we didn't have the most horrible stay but we wouldn't rent the apartment again - certainly not if we were to stay for more than a week.
- Excellent location (5 minutes walk to Swiss Cottage tube station)
- Highly responsive rental management team (sorted out any problems immediately)
- Extremely noisy (flat above an Italian wine bar-restaurant)
- Noisy neighbours (you can hear everything)
- Maintenance issues (the kettle blew the electricity and the boiler stopped working)
- Not very clean
Conclusion: reasonable value for money, helpful staff, good location but noisy.
