The only positive about our stay was the location, beautiful neighborhood and 5 min walk to bus stop and Lancaster Gate station. The guy that would let us in the apartment, opened a door that led to a parking full of junk and from there the door to the apartment. Small, poorly decorated with used supermarket items left there from previews tenants. There was a problem with the pressure of the water in the shower so we needed the double amount of time to have a shower. No windows, just a spot with glass on it to look like a window and a rusty dirty blind. I find the top reviews for this place very odd.
In general the place was clean, and the heat was fine, we were kept very warm. The owner was polite and helpful and assisted us for something we asked. However, we have visited London many times and we consider this stay was budget at it's best, we paid less for better accommodation, so for its state it was overpriced. Of course this is subject to taste, but personally we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone or visit again, this are what reviews are for anyway.
We really appreciated the flat for a family of 5: good sleeping and cooking facilities, enough space for five (except for having dinner), access to TV and WiFI, easy check in and out conditions.
However, there is room for improvement:
-The kitchen is a little small for 5 people (we could squeeze around the table but could hardly move then)
- A proper shower would be more convenient in the bathroom which could be renovated
- A lamp would be handy in the living room whan used as bedroom
Anyway, we would recommend the flat which is very well located to get to Central London and pleasant to stay in. Though we didn't meet Edem, he was friendly on the phone and easy going as for checking so that we could make the most of our stay.
Remarkable location, and very quiet. We were very excited to even find an available flat in this area at this very busy time of the year. For two adults and two children the room was quite sufficient, even when spending some nights in the flat resting rather than walking about. I can imagine that it's a different story for four adults. This was our first try at Wimdu so we were delighted to have a clean kitchen and even a washing machine. Very practical and worked fine. Wifi worked better than in many hotels and so did the TV. One thing that did reduce the overall impression somewhat, however, was the shower. It was impossible to take a decent shower without several minutes of ice cold water for each person. It drove us crazy. We did not call Edem to make this remark so maybe the problem could have been solved but I doubt it. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage in the back office at a nearby shop (of which Edem knew the owner) the last day before taking the train. An alternative would have been an expensive service at King's Cross. So globally a quite positive experience; I think we would rent this flat again would we get the opportunity.
The apartment was very comfortable, despite that It is small. It has everything you need to spend a good time during your stay in london.
Edem is very nice and helpfully. I recomend it .
Apartment was easy to find, not far from Lancaster Gate subway station. We were a bit earlier then expected, so we had to make a phone call to Edem, which was answered very quickly and we could get into the small, but nice apartment.
There were some restaurants etc in the neighborhood, but haven't actually walked around, so I don't know what there was.
We slept there half dec.
We were a group of 4, two slept on the bed and two on the couch. There's a fridge where we could put in breakfast and drinks. TV was good, wifi worked really good. There is heating, Edem explained how to turn it on and off. Shower was abit hard to figure out, but leaving it on between 6 and 5 was the right temperature for the winter. Towels were provided.
Restaurant on the second floor, but we didnt really had much trouble with the noise. After 10/11 pm the noises stop.
Very near Hyde Park, which was really nice. Walking from Marble Arch to Lancaster Gate was longer then I originally thought :D but subway is easier.
We had a good stay in the very small and very basic apartment. The location is very good, near to the Paddington Station.
Bathroom is very small, and not functioning perfectly (the mirrow should be replaced).
For a short stay for flexible persons it is ok!
We have a great time in London and Edem's studio was the perfect place to stay. It is very central and close to the Underground and buses. It is clean, nice and very warm! Wi-Fi works perfectly. Edem is very kind and he is always available in case you need help.
Geat experience, great accommodation and amazing city!
Me and my family stayed 4 nights at Edem place. It was perfect. We had a 1year old baby and Edem added a baby cot. Also we could cook, all necessary kitchen tools were available. The courtyard is shared with a restaurant but the few noises stop around 11pm. It was not a problem at all.
I recommend it ! It's safe, clean and confortable place ;)
The flat is at a very good central location, close to two tube stations. Our host Edem is very nice, and flexible with check in/out times. Even though there is a restaurant on the second floor, we did not find the noise bothersome. We were 3 adults and one baby and we found the space to be the right size, we appreciate the laundry machine (no dryer), and used the kettle and cooker for simple meals. The neighbourhood felt safe as there are lots of hotels and tourist walking around in the area . Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Great location close to restaurants/pubs, Hyde Park and public transport. I would definitely stay again on a city visit. Edem is a kind, helpful host.
