I've rented this apartment for my mom, three aunts and me. They needed a place with an elevator and two bathrooms! We found this property perfect for us and it really did fit us very well.
I stayed in the lving room and slept in a sofa bed tha t was OK. For someone with back problems, maybe it woudn't be nice.
The mais bedroom is great! It has a great king bed, plenty of space, Tv, lots of places to put our luggage and clothes.
But the second bedroom is really for a couple or someone alone. The bed is small, and it doen't have much space for two people that are not a couple.
Besides that, bathrooms are OK, kitchen is great but lacks somethings like frying pan or a board to cut things. We had to buy that because we wanted to cook.
It was a nice apt, in a nice building in a great street, close to everything, but really quiet!
I'd definetely recommend to my friends!
The apartment is well located in the East Village area. It is a bit compact for 5 or 6, but has all you need for your stay in NYC
Nice appartment in East village with interesting neighborhood. We enjoeyd the time. Ideal for four persons.
This apartment was not on Bleecker and Thompson as advertised and certainly was not big enough for 3 people. When we arrived there were NO pots to cook with and we waited 3 days to have some delivered. It afforded no privacy between parties. Having said that it was ideally situated for the tubes, accessing soho and both the east and west villages. The bedroom window overlooked a garden full of trees so you were not overlooked. The bed was comfortable but the sofabed was not great as it almost restricted access to the toilet when pulled out. I would only recommend this apartment for a couple or single person.
We booked a 2 bed apartment for 4 people: 2 of my elderly aunts and my cousin and I. For the 1st two days we were given this lovely studio apartment near Times Square but we were told that there was a double sofa bed and there wasn't. We had to resort to sleeping on the floor as the sofa bed was only a single! Also, only 1 set of towels were left in the studio for all 4 of us! :-( also no access to wi-fi which was also promised!
Then when we finally got to our actual apartment (the one advertised here) on 1st Avenue we found the following issues:
1) Extremely warm with both bedrooms over looking a very busy and very noisy main road which was noisy ALL night!
2) The electric points in the 2nd bedroom short circuited and blew the lamp bulb 4 times! Also the main light in that bedroom and the main bedroom didnt work.
3) The electric points in the kitchen didnt work so we had to plug in the toaster in the lounge area.
4) Even with the air-conditioner on in the 2 bedrooms the lounge was extremely warm. We raised several work orders for this and although promised a portable air-con unit none was provided. I couldn't sleep on warm nights!
5) In the main bedroom, the air-con unit was old and noisy so along with the noise of the traffic and the air-con no way you can sleep in there!
6) There was always a foul smell in the apartment.
7) Luckily we had a lift but it was always smelt and bounced.
8) The bathroom was old and needs redecorating and at least the shower head descaling as it simply dribbles.
I would NOT recommend this apartment to any future travellers unless you are using the place for storage only.
Aside from the above the apartment was suitably located but always requires a taxi to get to the nearest metro station. Lots of nice restaurants nearby and not so nice ones also.
Very nice place! Freshly renovated, very clean, complete kitchen, washing machine, 3 flatscreens and real beds - very good! Street in front is a bit noisy, subway a few blocks to walk, supermarket around the corner, deli just next door, easy to get taxis.
Office to pick up keys is not far from the appartment with baggage room, very friendly staff. Had to book very short-dated, which worked out very well!
Everythings cool, go for it!
This apartment is in a good location. There is no door to the room downstairs so little privacy in terms of sound if anyone in the main kitchen area. The outside area in the ad is not accessible- door taped up, and area pretty derelict anyway.
The apartment is great! Very nicely furnished, in excellent condition, the best place to enjoy NY because close to the Metro, close to Broadway and Times Square. We stayed her with 4 persons and felt fine. Just enough space to spend the nights and the few hours between sleep and outdoor-activity.
