Warning! On leaving the room, Claudio tried to charge us an extra 150 euros for our stay. Hope he hasn't done this to anyone else..
We had Very good days in Venezia. The place is in Castelo, 12 minutes walking from san marco square or the rialto bridge. But in the area castelo it is lively and not touristic. We liked that! The building is amazing and the room with private bathroom was fine. We had not much contact with Michel who lives there,( also because of the language barrier) but he was kind. Also we had to get used to the idea that we were not able to lock our door of our room. One advice: the breakfast could be accomplished with fresh bread and for example the wonderful italian cheese. Now it was only toasted bread with marmelade and a cup of coffee
My boyfriend and I arrived very late and Michele still quickly let this in and honored our breakfast in bed the following morning. We only stayed a short time 2 nights but would stay again. This B & B is located in what seems like more of a residential area which is nice because we stumbled upon a local area and continued walking to tourist area.
It was difficult to get to for us, as we arrivied late and were unfamiliar with the boat system (during high tide & fog the 5.2 line does not operate which is the stop for this B&B) but worth it. The walls are a bit thin but it is a quite area, and sign posted for quiet hour after 11p. The breakfast we had consist of various breads, cake, jams, butter, coffee, OJ, tea. If you want laundry service you need 2/3 days because clothes are hung dry (something I did not know about Europe but is apparently common). There is a tourist tax that you pay upon arrival which is a few dollars per person per night. I did not know about this but after looking it up, it is common.
We would for sure stay here again next time we Come to Venice. Totake advantage of the few amenities I would personally stay a 3 night minimum. Wonderful stay, kind people (Michele & Claudia)
Michele helped make our stay in Venice really special. Although very discreet, he was helpful and welcoming. The room we rented in his appartments fit the initial description - it was very cosy and had a charm all of its own. Getting around the city was easy, the residence is about 15 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco and the water bus stop is nearby too. We'd heartily recommend Michele as a host for anyone willing to have a comfortable base camp for the discovery of this magnificient city.
We have visited Venice in february for the carneval and have spent some wonderful days at Michele's Palazzo. He was a really kind host and though my italian isn't very good the communication worked very well.
The San Marco Place is only a 15 to 20 minutes walk through the alleys and 15 minutes to the firework at the Arsenale. Even though there were many tourists in the centre Micheles place was very quiet.
I would always recommend his place for a great holiday.
I've had a very pleasant stay with my 6 year old son. We had a nice and clean room, a good bathroom. Our host was a very nice and quiet and polite man.
He let us use his dining room and kitchen and gave us a lot of privacy and made us feel very welcome. I would recommant this place for sure. The palace is situated perfectly in a quiet and authentic area and you can easily walk to the center and the vaporetto.
This B&B is fine. What is very confusing on the site AND on the confirmation from Wimdu is that this is NOT an appartment you are renting but a room with a double bed. I was with a friend and we thought we had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and now we had to share a double bed. Not very nice if it's not what you planned.. We had to book an extra B&B which cost us a lot of time and money.
An amazing place to live in Venice. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of tourists, but located conveniently near a vaporetto station to bring us to the main sights, especially Murano. Michel was extremely patient and accommodating, despite some English language barriers and he prepares excellent coffee.
Michel, a very polite person will take range your room every day and prepare your breakfast. Indeed, a lovely place to stay. You will have to speak french or italian to comunicate well.
The room we stayed in was very clean and so was the bathroom. Very beautiful artwork around. The person who served us spoke very very little english but french and italian so checking in and communicating was a bit difficult. Make sure you have internet around the time of check in as we received instructions on how to reach the location a day prior to arriving. It was good for the one night we needed.
