Wonderful hosts, both Cristina et her husband John. The directions to get to the apartment could not have been more accurate. Then during our 1st meeting they gave us very useful information on restaurants (which we visited and which were excellent). They also told us about a Fado dinner night, but when there was no Fado that night they looked for another place. We called immediately and booked the last table. It was fabulous! Many many thanks!
We stayed in Porto for a week and we really felt at home in this appartment. The kitchen was well equipped with all the tools you might need to cook a meal or make an espresso or tea. Christina and her family gave us a warm welcome, some advice about where to go and contacts to go surfing.
Even though during the day there was roadwork in front of the house, it did not bother us, since the appartement was located on the other side of the building. (Besides, the work seemed to progress quickly.) Instead we enjoyed waking up to the sounds of seagulls and church bells.
From the appartement you can easily walk the whole old town or simply use the close by public transportation to reach more dinstant locations. We strongly recommend trying it out for yourselves and have a great time experiencing Porto!
it was a very nice holiday in this nice, clean flat, with a great view to the cathedral, especially in the night. 5 minutes to the river and the center, 2 minutes to the bus to the beach. the hosts are very sympatic and helpful. we would book it again. thank you very much!!
We had a wonderful time in this large three-bedroom apartment. The
benevolent ribbon windows overlook the Parque da Cidade and the
Atlantic Ocean. The old fishing village Matosinhos with very good and
inexpensive restaurants is at walking distance. Matosinhos is the
hometown of Portugal’s most prominent modern-day architect: Álvaro
Siza Vieira. The village houses a couple of his early works, such as
the Boa Nova tea house and a swimming pool overlooking the sea at Leça
de Palmeira. But the metropolis of Porto is not far away. The metro
line takes less than half an hour to reach the city center with its
broad vistas, small alleys in the medieval town called Ribeira and its
wonderful bridges over the river Douro. Porto, a city to fall in love
We had a lovely stay at this apartment. Christina and her husband were nice to accept us with a late check in, some port wine and the place was romantic and clean. The location was perfect, we explored Porto by foot. There was quite a lot of traffic in Rua des Flores due to work in progress in the city centre, so we woke up quite early. But overall, the place was very nice!
It is a very good appartment in the middle of the Rua das Flores, in the middle of the Ribeira area the straat it is at this moment (april 2013) a very noisy, because they are rebuilding it.
It was no problem for us, because sittng with a cup of tea/coffee or a glass of wine at the open window you can see and hear a lot of different things. We enyod it very much.
The appartment is very close to the bridge and in the Rua das Flores are a good restaurants and also a lot of - little - shops.
We highly recommand this appartment to those who wants to stay for a couple of days in Porto.

The apartment was wonderful and well located. We explored Porto by foot, what is easy and short to walk from the apartment and we discovered that porto is a nice city. All the things wel could think of was in the apartment the neighbourhood. Only thing I missed was salt, pepper, cooking oil and dishwash soap.
The welcom Port was great.
Thanks we had a great weekend.
What an incredible apartment in the heart of an incredible city! The street (Rua dos Flores, meaning "Flowers street"!) used to be the street where noble families of Porto built their houses. Half of them are in excellent condition while others wait to be repaired... And yet one can read the history of the city by looking on these houses. The street is absolutely charming and perfect for couples! The apartment is located just 5 min. by foot from the world famous Porto waterfront. The building is very old, decorated with famous Portuguese tiles (azulejos) and has incredibly beautiful windows and wooden floors. Although very old outside, the apartment is very modern inside which matches the old walls and windows very well. We loved sitting together at the window on the stone benches (which are seen in the pictures and are part of a very thick old stone wall) enjoying our morning coffee. The bathroom is very modern, equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen also had everything one needs to cook, we loved sitting on the couch and enjoying nice Port wine which our lovely hosts have left for us in a beautiful glass carafe in the beginning of our stay. As in many Portuguese houses, the windows have wooden shutters so that one can sleep in complete darkness, one sleeps this way very well. The table where we had dinners was very lovely too, with beautiful old chairs and a romantic small window above it, in the middle of the old stone wall. The communication with the host was excellent, I always got prompt answer and both Cristina and her husband (who let us in on our first day) are very friendly and helpful. There was also a free Porto map waiting for us in the apartment and a book for travelers (please do write down about your experience there!)... The apartment is just 3 minutes away from the beautiful Jardim do Infante Dom Henrique. Please do not miss the old Market building (Mercado), we were positively shocked as it is not a market any more but a beautiful restaurant / lounge with food prepared on open fire and lovely furniture - this is upstairs. We understood that there's a club on the ground floor as well. A good tip to stop by after a long day discovering Porto on your way home for a glass of Port wine. I will stay here again, for sure. Thank you very much, Cristina!
